ICT

"The seven-inch tablets are tweeners: too big to compete with a smartphone, and too small to compete with an iPad". Steve Jobs
Group I had a “Play Day”, where they were given a choice to choose whichever game/app they wanted to use. Everyone had a great time playing their favorite games. They all wished we could have a “Play Day” everyday, but these are only very infrequent treats given to them once in a while.

In Group II, two of the students are done with their one minute commercial advertisements.

Here are the finished products :-
·         Nikhil created an ad for a comedy show based on politicians - http://goanimate.com/videos/0wYOSbGtt7oE?utm_source=emailshare&refuser=0m-E-Y9OQfNA

·         Trisha created an ad for “Super Candy” set in the land of monsters - http://goanimate.com/videos/0CphhpPkGlL4?utm_source=emailshare&refuser=0m-E-Y9OQfNA

·         Oorjit is still in the process of giving finishing touches to his ad.

Nikhil and Trisha also became the “Techie Reporters” for the next two days. They are going around all classes going on for Rediscovering Minds, and capture stills and videos of the activities. They might also wish to take a few interviews. They plan on putting together a movie to sum up the whole summer camp experience. We will definitely keep you updated on their progress.

Group I also created finger puppets today. They started off with the tedious task of clicking pictures of their index fingers. They went on to convert their fingers into puppets by using the “Animal Fingers” app on the iPads. They also gave creative names to their puppets.

Design & Technology

Students finished their filing work and they started joining  the square box using PVA glue. Students  made sketches on a paper using steel ruler and free hand sketching for the front part of the clock.
The joining process will be continue in next lesson and they will move for painting process.

MUSIC

"I think music in itself is healing. It's an explosive expression of humanity. It's something we are all touched by. No matter what culture we're from, everyone loves music". Billy Joel
Group I has explored drum kit by playing snare and bass drums, they did percussion instruments and song - ‘sun is shining on my head’ and vocal exercises. They love playing music and statue too.

Group II has started practicing for their solo performances on Drums and group performance on Guitar.

DANCE

"We dance for laughter, we dance for tears, we dance for madness, we dance for fears, we dance for hopes,  we dance for screams, we are the dancers. We create dreams".

Dancers had lots of fun while preparing for the showcase day..... these young dancers are eager to perform in front of their parents as audience.Children of both the groups are getting prepared for final day that is the showcase day. The songs & music has been selected for the performance.

DRAMA

"Acting gives you a story to tell, a reason to cry, and lets you for once be someone other than yourself". Gorgie Roman

Young actors are preparing themselves seriously to perform on the stage in front of the audience that is their parents..... Different short stories is what the group I is focusing on and group II is paying more concentration on dialogue delivery, command on language and expressions as a part of acting. But in all this serious work, fun is not separated.

INDOOR SPORTS

"Swimming is a confusing sports, because sometimes you do it for fun, and other times you do it to not die. And when I'm swimming, sometimes I'm not sure which one it is". Demetri Martin

The number of children swimming independently has increased from the first day of camp till now. Now children are able to swim 20 meters of distance non stop. There is still time to work on their endurance.....
