A busy and successful summer program comes to an end, leaving in our hearts and minds a lot of moments to cherish.

Students developed skills and participated in many fun and exciting activities and made many new friends along the way too. They participated all through the program with never ending enthusiasm and interest. They have made best use of the opportunities provided to them. And most of all they have had lots of fun while learning.

Here's just a little pick of some of the performances at the showcase of Rediscovering Minds.

Using only multi colour lines and some designs  they expressed their feeling on  paper. Making the work colourful and beautiful was the objective.

After completing the work, we had a lovely photo session.

Life Skills

Day 1 What A bingo...
Great fun to know people with innovative activities. From inspiring facts to funny facts it revealed all. The group had heroes who could run backwards, speak the alphabets backwards, do a nonstop Hoola Hoop, not on the waist dear but on the neck & knees too.

Learning the traits of a Leader could not have been such a BREAKthrough. The leaders in the making identified the 5 traits of the leader through the traditional stone blocks that read BREAK.

Though traditional it wasn’t the usual BREAK. It was gathering the traits of the Leader to Break the old Patterns, Break the old perception, to break the limiting beliefs & touch the zenith of their life
                B- Belief
                R- Relationships
                E- Effective Communication
        A-  Act of Courage
        K- Kiss the zenith
The day ended with an extraordinary assignment where they  left to interview important people in their life

Day 2:
What an outstanding response from the participants. The Interview assignment was a huge hit. Some said they never realized they had so many qualities in them which people admired. A few became emotional to share they felt closer to the important people in their life. Some shared they got a renewed level of confidence. One of the participant said for the first time he wanted to improve on his shortcomings & become the best son he could be.
 The day was followed by
  B- BELIEF
Creating a Belief that never says impossible. Replacing the CAN’T of simple things in life with ‘I can Learn to do everything if I decide to’ was fun. The fun activity with try could not have been more hilarious.
The challenge maze had innovative hurdles & was great fun to complete. The 3 teams named after the Indian heroes Viru, Gauti & Yuvi competed well but Yuvi Team with their belief, task distribution & team coordination stole the show.
The inspiring Audio visuals of people who never let go filled participants with a new zeal & enthusiasm.
Learning could not have been so much fun. Thanks to all of you for being so courageous & leaving lifetime memories. Tomorrow is going to be EXCITING. Let’s see how many accomplish the challenge that they have accepted.

Day 3:

It was one of the best sessions where everyone learnt the value of people and the importance of Team. Having Trust in Team probably couldn’t have been easier to learn.Relationships are the basis of success in any sphere of life and we need to value people the way we want people to value us and acknowledge them for all that they contribute in our lives. This was the central theme of the day and all the activities and games like Caterpillar crawl and Sponge Squeezer revolved around relationships and teamwork.

Young people went home with an Assignment to acknowledge the important people in their life for their endless contributions and spread happiness.
Day 4: What an accomplishment it was for

all to realize thatjust saying some words of appreciation can raise the relationship to an altogether new level. Indeed a great success for all when the participants came into the session bubbling with enthusiasm to share their experiences with their mom and dad when they acknowledged them.
Day 4 was all focused on Effectively Communicating to understand and for the first time most of the participants realized that communication was less about talking and more about listening and giving due respect and putting an effort to understand each other better.

In the activities segment what began with a chaos of No Communication in the initial stage of Treasure Hunt reached to the level of great understanding and communication as it progressed. Block and Tackle taught them the fine distinction between  discussion and argument and how in an argument no one gets to win. Buddies’ calling was great to test the improved listening amongst Team Mates.Overall a Superb session.

Art

Student learnt to make paper on the very first day. They tore the newspapers into small pieces and made pulp initially. Pulp was used for making the paper later on.  Students were excited to use paint so they were given papers which were made before from ‘paper making machine’.   Using the acrylic paint was very exciting for them.  They used many stencils and broad brush to explore their creativity. Everybody could complete one work each.
